Promote a Civic Commons approach to investing in and maintaining our communities by amplifying the arts, culture, and recreation, including exploring a General Obligation bond.

While the expanded civic campus conversation is on hold due to more pressing priorities, 2022 will see a strong coordination with the SLCPL and exploration of a new library branch in the Ballpark neighborhood.

On September 16 the City announced the launch of its new special events permitting platform through its partnership with OpenCounter. The platform creates a centralized location for receiving, reviewing, and approving new applications and orchestrating cross-departmental review on a large scale. It provides applicants with helpful checklists and timely fee estimates.

The plan has been recommended by the Planning Commission and will go before the City Council for formal adoption in 2022.
